Getting into HDR photography

What is the essential equipment/software that someone just getting into photography needs in order to start producing HDR images?
As a beginner, I am hoping to avoid a large financial investment, any tips?
Thanks!

Any equipment with exposure brackets will work for HDR photos. For software, it would be ideal to have Photomatrix Pro for compression and then Photoshop for further editing.
However, don't save your investment on a good tripod. You will realize very soon how a tripod will either enhance or damage your photographing experience.
Enjoy HDR and don't forget to share your HDR photos with us!
